Description
Up for sale is a brand new 1/200 USAAF UNITED STATES ARMY AIR FORCE BOEING B-29 SUPERFORTRESS “Jack’s Hack” 44-61975 (PS5388) by Postage Stamp.
This B-29 was build in July 1945 and was assigned in August to the 1st AF / 114th AAFBU (Combat Crew Training Station – Very Heavy) at Chatham air force base. From there it moved around various training establishments and was converted to TB-29A status. It ended up after a mid air collision at the Aberdeen proving ground. It was recovered from Aberdeen in June 1973 by members of the Bradley Air Museum (later to be renamed the New England Air Museum). Full restoration began in 1998 sponsored by the 58th Bomb Wing Association. The aircraft is in final stages of an extensive and thorough restoration and is now displayed in the 58th Bomb Wing Memorial Hangar.
This model air-plane is made from die-cast metal and is offered as a low cost alternative for collectors on a budget. It does not have landing gear but includes a display stand.
