Up for sale is a brand new 1:400 scale NASA Boeing 747SP N145UA (XX4963)

Shown in this model is the early United Battleship livery this SP flew with NASA until 2023 as SOFIA, the Stratospheric Observatory for Infrared Astronomy. SOFIA was a joint project of NASA and the German Space Agency at DLR. DLR provided the telescope, scheduled aircraft maintenance, and other support for the mission. NASA’s Ames Research Center in California’s Silicon Valley managed the SOFIA program, science, and mission operations in cooperation with the Universities Space Research Association, headquartered in Columbia, Maryland, and the German SOFIA Institute at the University of Stuttgart. The aircraft has been retired to the Pima Air and Space Museum.

This model aircraft is made from die-cast metal and include extensive detailing. It is similar in quality to Gemini Jets, Phoenix Models, JC Wings and NG Model.
