Description
Up for sale is a brand new 1/400 Pan American World Airways (Pan Am) Boeing 707-300 N435PA “Clipper Celestial Empire” (BB4-707-003) by BigBird models.
Pan Am was the launch customer for the 707 and Boeing took a major risk in developing it but with the trusted relationship with PAA’s head Juan Trippe they both made a major commitment to what was new technology for the time. This version was first flown in 1962 and as previously PAA was an early user. This one was delivered in late 1967 and was with the airline until mid 1978 when it went to fly with Korean. It’s later years were spent in Africa where it was retired and believed to have been scrapped in Nairobi in 2002.
This model air-plane is made from die-cast metal and includes extensive detailing. It is similar in quality to Gemini Jets, Phoenix Models, JC Wings, NG Models and Aviation400.
