Description
Up for sale is a brand new 1:400 scale THE HAWAII EXPRESS MCDONNELL DOUGLAS DC-10-30 N905WA (AC411154) by Aeroclassics.
The Hawaii Express was a scheduled passenger airline that operated flights between Los Angeles and Honolulu, . It was nicknamed “The Big Pineapple” and started service with one Boeing 747-100 aircraft, featuring a unique and detailed paint job with a mango-coloured tail and a rainbow-colored stripe down the side. The airline began flights on August 20, 1982. Hawaii Express acquired two McDonnell Douglas DC-10-10 aircraft in May 1983 to replace the 747, although all three aircraft were operated simultaneously for a while. The Hawaii Express suspended flights on December 20 of that year and filed for bankruptcy the following day. This aircraft was originally delivered to Western in 1974. It ended its days as a freighter with FEDEX being placed in storage in 2019.
This model air-plane is made from die-cast metal and includes extensive detailing. It is similar in quality to Gemini Jets, NG Model, Phoenix Models, JC Wings and Aviation400.
